I'm an idiot....

I'm an idiot and I apologise. Before downloading the pictures from my camera, with all the battle shots of "Telyermum", I accidentally erased the entire memory on the stick thing. Consequently, there will be no battle report - Sorry!

The battle was closer than expected and the Gauls put up quite a show until they ran out of army morale and collapsed. It was quite a game; and a good looking one; and I'm rather miffed at losing the shots. Peter and I will re-run the game at some point in the future.

Next week Peter and I will play "Hannibal: Rome Versus Carthage" the board game. We will do this with a view to using it as the basis of a table-top campaign.

Hello James,

It's a nightmare when that happens. You aren't the first. I am travelling round the world at the moment and I managed to lose a hard drive with more pics than I care to think.

I am looking forward to the report when it finally arrives!

Cheers,

Richard

As a long time player of Hannibal: Rome versus Cathage, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how that might be a vehicle for a campaign game!

Sorry about your pics. Its ok. Mistakes happen

Usually there should be an folder on your memory card which is named trash or similar. If you did not lots of new pictures restoration should be possible.

lyJames,
No harm, no foul! Technology seems to have a flaw. Press the wrong button and poof! Its gone.
I also am a big fan of Hannibal. Ive had many memorable games with it and my local circle. Looking forward to the articles about your game with PJ.
Respectfully,
Gunny

Tankred may have a point. In a hard disk, data is not full erased until is overwriten. I don´t know if a memory card works the same, but is possible that using a data recovery program, you can get your pics. Try it, I have recovered data from my hard disk that I had lost.

Hi Tancred and Emilio,

The card data is not recoverable. Erasing pictures on my camera (a little Canon Ixus 30) is total and permanent. I don't take the card out to download but connect camera to PC and recovery is not an option there either.

Sorry for being a pest, but... take the card from the camera and read it in a cardreader on the pc. The options are not the same as to connecting the camera to the pc. The last try...
